PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Building was designed with the idea that it reflects the terms and motives nearly related with fashion. Influenced by changebility, enthusiasm coused by new, unique identity, use of decorative materials and object, the building is concieved as an intensified compression of the specific spirit in space and light. The building was designed using  four curtains, each with its unique spatial decoration (filled / empty). Their mutual intercourse create exciting and recognizable spaces. Refering on the everlasting shape present in fashion, nature, cultural features as a basic element for creating spatial pattern our choice was pointed on circle. Interior space marked with circles create a strong sense of place so the visitor is not only oriented on the view toward the city but his attention is also kept inside. The view on the city is rarely wide open, it is mostly framed always revealing some other part of the city. The white circular pattern skin also alludes to different elements present in culture of Japan and soft curves in the roof garden refer to traditional japanese dry garden. The concept for the museum is realized from both inside and out. The perforated concrete structure with white interiors is illuminated by soft looping rays of light.
Strange, surprising experiences in space perspective and light will provide an inspiring frame for the exhibitions. The aim was to achieve a balance between form, function and visual impact. Once the functional aspects were sorted out, focus was put on making the space not only a culture enclosure, but also a building that uses negative space  to transform itself from a simple form into a powerful symbol.

Zgrada je dizajnirana s idejom da ona odražava motive povezane s modom. Inspirirana promjenljivošću, entuzijazmom novim, jedinstvenim identitetom, korištenjem ukrasnih materijala i predmeta, zgrada je koncipirana kao pojačana kompresija specifičnog duha u prostoru i svjetlu. Zgrada je projektirana pomoću četiri zavjese, svaka sa svojim jedinstvenim prostornim motivom (puno/prazno). Njihov međusobni odnos stvara uzbudljive i prepoznatljive prostore. Pozivajući se na vječni oblik prisutan u modi, prirodi, kulturnim obilježjima kao osnovnom elementu za stvaranje prostornog uzorka, izabran je krug. Unutarnji prostor označen krugovima stvara snažan osjećaj mjesta pa posjetitelj nije orijentiran samo na pogled na grad, već njegova pažnja ostaje u prostoru. Pogled na grad rijetko je otvoren, uglavnom je uokviren i uvijek otkriva neki drugi dio grada. Bijela kružna shema također aludira na različite elemente prisutne u kulturi Japana, a mekane krivulje u krovnom vrtu odnose se na tradicionalni japanski suhi vrt. Koncept muzeja ostvaruje se iznutra i izvana. Perforirana betonska struktura s bijelim interijerima osvijetljena je mekim zrakama svjetla. Čudna i iznenađujuća iskustva prostornih perspektiva i svjetlosti pružit će nadahnjujući okvir za izložbe. Cilj je bio postići ravnotežu između oblika, funkcije i vizualnog utjecaja. Jednom kad su se riješili funkcionalni aspekti, fokus je stavljen na stvaranje ne samo zgrade za kulturu, nego i na zgradu koja koristi negativni prostor da se transformira iz jednostavnog oblika u snažan simbol.
